Remembrance Day

Posted on 11th November 2020 by Christabelle Harris

Today on Remembrance Day, we honour the many Australian servicemen and women who lost their lives in service to our country. We will respect all the members of the armed forces with a minute of silence at 11am.

The Armistice was signed at 5am in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiegne, France on November 11, 1918. The minute of silence is meant as a tribute to those who lost their lives fighting for their country, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the guns of Europe fell silent.

Lest we forget.
