5 MINUTES WITH NOAH

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY TYPICALLY INVOLVE?

A lot of what I do is tax advice and compliance, and helping clients self-analyse their business with our CFO suite. I also work on bigger projects for clients. For example, if someone wants to restructure or sell their company, expand with a new branch or division or set up a family trust. Basically, anything that’s based around a big change.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HIGHLIGHTS FROM YOUR WORK HERE?

I enjoy the interaction we have working with Ronald McDonald House and helping out those who are working in a more voluntary capacity.

I also love helping clients to understand the nitty gritty of their business, what they’ve built and what their options are. It’s pretty rewarding.

DESCRIBE THE PATH THAT LED TO WHAT YOU’RE DOING NOW.

I did accounting for my ATAR in high school. I liked how logical it is. When I first went to uni, I did a Bachelor of Commerce with accounting as my back-up while I was trying to get into medicine. But I enjoyed accounting so much that I decided to stick with it. I got an internship at GeersSullivan in my final year, and here I am.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING AT GEERSSULLIVAN?

It’s a great office culture. Everyone’s very supportive, and the directors put a big emphasis on our personal and professional development. You can progress at your desired pace and achieve your goals. I really appreciate that.

WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE?

I’m avid about music and sports. I write and create R&B and neo-soul. I also love stats, so I watch a lot of basketball, NRL, football. Plus, I’m on the board of a charity.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVOURITE TV SHOWS, MOVIES, BOOKS OR PODCASTS?

I love The Princess Bride. It’s a phenomenal movie! Dave Eddings, a fantasy author, got me into reading with The Redemption of Athalus. I mainly like fantasy.

WHAT’S ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

When I was growing up, my dad worked in conservation, so I desperately want to travel to remote biodiversity hotspots. They’re so unique. I’ve spent time in the Kimberley region (our very own hotspot!), but there’s also Madagascar, the Amazon Rainforest and many others.
